My paintings honor nature and the old ways. The personal language I use speaks of the feminine aspect in everything that exists. The ancient representations of Goddess, and the craft of tribes people intrigue me, drawing me closer with the textures and movement of the natural world. I use symbolism to paint abstract thoughts regarding Spiritual essence and the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Open space is often used for "automatic writing", a journal of my thoughts. My flower images symbolize the rebirth of all the other elements in a painting. Often times flowers close the work for me like an end to a story. I work with acrylic, texture mediums, collage, pencil and ink. I paint on paper, canvas, cloth and found objects.
